Well person, actually, for the moment at least. My name is Richard and when I decided to retire from brand consultancy a few years ago, my wife and I decided we should move to Colonsay (an island we’ve both loved since coming here on honeymoon in the late 80s) for the next chapter of our journey. I was and am still very keen to do something to help build the economy of the island I love. And anyone who’s ever met me knows my other great passion is for food. So I’ve spent the last five years renovating our house, managing the re-build of the steading the smokery now inhabits, and teaching myself how to fillet, cure and smoke fish. Eventually, I hope to attract some others to come and help me run the venture. But in the meantime, it’s just me, doing what I love to do – producing food for others to enjoy.
