Classic mustard dill sauce for gravadlax

Prep 2 minutes | No cook | Ready straight away

The simplest possible dressing to add a balancing touch of acidity and sweetness to our beautiful gravadlax.


Serves 8

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp soft brown sugar (or honey)

  • 1/2 tbsp cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped dill (about 6g)



  1. Whisk the mustard, vinegar and sugar/honey together in a small bowl till well combined. Then slowly add the oil while still whisking till the sauce emulsifies - it should be like a thick salad dressing. Then simply mix through the dill and leave for half an hour or so for the flavours to meld.

  2. To serve, whisk again and drizzle over slices of gravadlax.
